Monkey and great apes artwork - unique paintings and drawings of orangutans, chimps and more.

Great apes and monkeys have always been my favourite subjects to draw and paint. My very first introduction to wildlife conservation was actually drawing a portrait of an orangutan for ‘Sketch for survival’ art competition…the artwork was titled ‘Hope’, I came as a finalist, as a result it got auctioned off for charity, rising vital funds for endangered animals. Since then I’ve adopted several animals including an orangutan and continued to create artworks of other great apes and monkeys.

The power of monkey artwork in your home

Do you have a favourite great ape? For me, I particularly love chimps and orangutans. I think it’s because of their very human and expressive eyes. At a recent exhibition I got into conversation with a lovely lady who burst out in tears upon seeing my chimp painting ‘kind eyes’…we discussed our loves for wildlife and monkey conservation. She then purchased my original bonobo painting ‘be more bonobo’.

‘Be more bonobo’, bonobo, acrylic on linen canvas, 20×24 inches. (Sold).

Chimpanzee paintings - thoughtful and sensitive.

My large canvas painting titled ‘kind eyes’ tells the story of chimp Tushi. Her reflective pose evokes a sense of quiet reflection, a thoughtful centrepiece for your home. Do you feel connected to this piece?

'Kind Eyes', chimp, acrylic on linen canvas, 16.5 x 23.4 inches (A2).

Orangutan art - gentle giants of the forest.

Orangutans hold a special place in my heart, critically endangered, they’re often known as ‘guardians of the forest’.

Gorilla art - strength and abstract beauty.

My only gorilla painting, ‘moment in time’, focusses on the power and grace of gorillas in abstract form. A lone butterfly peacefully perches on this magnificent gorilla, encouraging you to take a breath, pause and reflect. What do you feel when you look into this gorilla’s eyes?

‘Moment in time’, gorilla, acrylic on linen canvas, A2.

The gray-bellied night monkey - rare and mysterious.

Perhaps you haven’t heard of a 3-striped night monkey, also known as an owl monkey, these nocturnal creatures are striking, check out my new canvas painting ‘not just a pretty picture’.
